An unmatched educational immersion

Texas Coalition for Animal Protection’s veterinary surgical externship program provides veterinary student seniors the opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of high-quality shelter and companion animal medicine. Veterinary students will work alongside our experienced veterinarians and staff to gain hands-on experience,  earn college credit, and learn from best-in-class instructors. 

Surgery

Five days of hands-on spay/neuter surgical practice. With the opportunity to perform 25+ surgeries in total.

Classroom
Instruction

Learn best practices, discuss animal welfare topics, and inquire about post-grad opportunities with industry professionals.

Wellness Care

Put your knowledge to work providing high-quality, low-cost wellness services to pets in need.

TCAP is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, and leading provider of high-volume, low-cost veterinary care in Dallas-Fort Worth. We are committed to providing exceptional preventative care for pets and their owners, and invite you to join us as an extern in our mission to end the euthanasia of pets in North Texas
