Dallas Free Cat Program

City of Dallas Residents with a valid SR number may have community / feral cats spay or neutered at no cost.  This program is available through the Dallas 311 program, which allows Dallas residents to request City services.

Funding for this important program is provided through our partnership with Dallas Animal Services. Rabies vaccination, microchip, FHCPCh vaccination and ear tip* are included with surgery.  This program also covers additional fees such as in-heat, crypt, or pregnancy.  The program requires that the cat is a feral or un-owned community cat and that they are located within Dallas city limits. This program does not cover kittens or cats that are trapped and then go into a rescue group for adoption.

Only one (1) SR number is required per Dallas address. Please note that if you bring a cat that is found to already be spay or neutered you will be responsible for any services performed.  Also, if you do not have a valid SR number, you will be responsible for all costs.

You can get a Service Request (SR) number online. Once you click the link below select Animal Care and Control and then select Animal Community Cat Program. Fill out all the information required to get the SR number. Bring the SR number with you on the day of your appointment.  This will be required for payment.

*Ear tipping is where the tip of the left ear is clipped while under anesthesia. This is painless to the cat and is very important once you release it back into the community. If the cat is trapped again, the trapper will release it after seeing the tipped ear.

Once you have a valid SR number, please make an appointment at your nearest TCAP location.   The cat may be scheduled at any TCAP facility.  If you do not see the location or time needed, please call our staff for assistance: 940-566-5551.
