What to Expect at TCAP: Vaccination Hours

Vaccine clinic hours can vary by season and location.
Please check our vaccination clinic calendar  for the most up-to-date hours and locations.

Ensure all dogs are on a tight leash or in your arms and unable to interact with other clients or pets. All cats must be in a secure cat carrier.

Join the Line

When you arrive, please join the line (if one has formed) with your pet by scanning the QR code provided to you by our team. You will then receive texts letting you know of your group number and when it is your turn to be seen, letting you wait in the comfort of your car until your turn.

At TCAP we work on a first-come-first-serve basis, and do our best to provide quick, quality care to every animal we see. However, please be prepared for a 30-45 minute wait. Typically, we ask you wait in your car to alleviate your pet’s stress, and so we can be a good neighbor to surrounding businesses.

Your wait will be most efficient if you complete your paperwork while in line, and select the services you know your pet needs.

At some events, you and your pet(s) may have to wait to be seen. People and pets overheating is a serious health concern. Flat-faced (brachycephalic) breeds—such as French Bulldogs, Old English Bulldogs, Pugs, Persians, and Boxers—as well as senior or obese pets may struggle to regulate their breathing and maintain a safe body temperature, even in comfortable indoor conditions. These pets face higher risks of stress-related emergencies, heat stroke, and coronary issues. New environments and waiting to be seen can quickly increase stress and trigger a medical emergency. To help ensure a positive experience at TCAP, keep your pet calm, bring water, and leave the line immediately if you notice heavy panting, noisy breathing, weakness, changes in gum color, or tacky gums. Please be aware of this, especially for older pets and pets that are in crates, and prepare yourself and your pet(s) accordingly. If you feel your pet may be showing any of the above signs of stress, seek medical assistance from a full service veterinary or hospital care.

Vaccines & Welless

Your pet will be vaccinated by our caring team of veterinarians and vet techs right in front of you.

If you requested to have your pet’s nails trimmed, please note that this cannot be done on the same day as the rabies vaccine. Pets must be current on their rabies vaccine for at least seven days before receiving a nail trim at TCAP. If your pet’s rabies was done elsewhere, please bring paper documentation showing that your pet is current.

Please Note: If TCAP’s veterinarian determines a patient does not meet the minimum health requirements for services, the patient will be declined to ensure the patient’s health. This declination of service is for a pet’s well-being and the patient will be referred to local, full-service hospitals for care.

Payment

Payment is due at the time of service. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Cash, TCAP prepayment vouchers, and pre-approved vouchers from one of TCAP’s shelter partners. TCAP does not accept Apple Pay or any tap-to-pay payment methods.

If you prepaid for your services, please have your printed voucher in hand. The paperwork you fill out will be given back to you, featuring the veterinarian’s signature and the rabies vaccine information (if applicable). This paperwork will serve as your records of the services provided and your rabies certificate (if rabies was provided).

At Home

Once at home, it is important to monitor your pet post-vaccination in case they have a reaction to the vaccines; however, vaccine reactions are not common.

Information about vaccine reaction symptoms can be found on the back of your paperwork.

If you have any concerns post-vaccination call our Client Care Coordinator at 940-395-4306.

Please note: TCAP facilities do not have a public restroom.
